I chose the degree programme Law Enforcement because, from an early age, I have dreamt of defending justice, supporting people, and contributing to the safety and well-being of society. This decision was not made by chance — it reflects my conscious understanding of the professional path I wish to pursue.
From June 16 to 26, 2025, Sumy State University hosted the educational school “Intellectual Property Rights in Scientific Research”, organized within the framework of the international project 101126485 – PIPRRRIBEUP – ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH.
On June 20, 2025, during a regular meeting of the Council of Young Scientists under the Sumy Regional Military Administration, organizational elections for the Council’s executive body were held. As a result of the vote, Dr. Olha Maletova, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure at Sumy State University, was elected Chair of the Council of Young Scientists.
On June 19, 2025, the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the Educational and Research Institute of Law, Sumy State University, successfully held a high-profile roundtable discussion entitled “EU Experience in the Protection of Personal Data in Cyberspace.” The event was organized as part of the international academic project ERASMUS-JMO-2023-MODULE – ERASMUS2027 – 101125350 – “EUEPPDC” under the Jean Monnet Module of the Erasmus+ Programme.
Anastasiia Hlushchenko, a law student at SumDU, took part in the Human Rights School in Times of War, held from June 6 to 11 in Kolychivka village (Chernihiv region). The event was organized with the support of the Human Rights House in Chernihiv and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
On May 22, 2025, the workshop entitled “Commercialisation of Research and Innovation through Intellectual Property (IP) Protection” was held within the framework of the project 101126485 – PIPRRRIBEUP – ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH. The event was conducted online and hosted by Sumy State University.
We are pleased to introduce you to the speakers of the workshop “Commercialisation of Research and Innovation through IP Protection”, which will take place on May 22, 2025 (online) as part of the project “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights of Researchers and Scientific Institutions: EU Best Practices”.
On May 16, 2025, the faculty and students of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure took part in the university-wide celebration of Science Day. On this occasion, the department’s classrooms were filled with Ukrainian symbols, traditional embroidered shirts (vyshyvankas), and a warm atmosphere of unity.

On May 7, 2025, Olha Maletova, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, participated in the online event “Findings from the OECD Review on Integrity and Anti-Corruption in Ukraine.”
