A graduate student of the department, Olena Tymoshenko, participated in the “LAITECH2023 Student Conference The Law” in Tallinn, Estonia, as part of an international virtual scientific internship, presenting her report: “Innovative technologies in countering 3D printed guns”. In her work, Olena emphasized that combating 3D weapon smuggling is widespread and requires constant improvement and introduction of new technologies. She noted that effective innovative methods are the introduction of biometric technologies, the use of cryptography, blockchain and artificial intelligence technology.

Students were delighted to observe the work of a forensic expert in the ABIS ballistic identification system “BalScan”, in particular, scanning and identification of traces on bullets and casings.
The Royal Society held an event for fellows of the British Academy from Ukraine, which was attended by the fellow, Ph.D. law Sciences, Associate Professor Maryna UTKINA.
On February 16, 2023, Sumy State University hosted the II stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the defense of research works of students and members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Kateryna Yanishevska, associate professor of the department, took part as the head of the jury in the “Jurisprudence” section.
Ruslana DEGTYAR, graduate student of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, was awarded an award for successful scientific work for participating in the All-Ukrainian competition of scientific works of higher education graduates and young scientists “Business and human rights in Ukraine: problems and solutions during the war and post-war recovery” from on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the institution of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for human rights. The head of the CPDS department, doctor of legal sciences, associate professor – Olha BONDAREKO acted as the scientific supervisor.
The competition was aimed at popularizing in Ukraine the UN approach based on human rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights by promoting the activation and support of research work under the difficult circumstances of martial law, developing proposals for scientific and practical solutions to ensure, respect and protection of human rights in the field of business in the conditions of war and post-war recovery in Ukraine, including through the implementation of the Recovery Plan of Ukraine, implementation and improvement of relevant industry policies and legal acts.
Sumy State University was included in the top 13 institutions of higher education, represented by the winners of the Competition and from which the largest number of high-quality works were received.
Student of the Academic and Research Institute Law OP Intellectual property Shevtsov Ya.A. took part in international professional development on the topic: Use of non-formal education in the preparation of bachelors and masters: the experience of the countries of the European Union and Ukraine and received the corresponding certificate.
The organizer of the international advanced training (Webinar) was the Scientific Research Institute of the Lublin Science and Technology Park and the IESF International Foundation of Scientists and Educators.
The webinar was attended by students of higher education institutions, scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions, educators, as well as invited bachelor and master students of higher education institutions.
According to the results of the competition “The best scientific and pedagogical workers of Sumy State University according to the results of 2021-2022 Two employees of the criminal law and procedure department: Kateryna YANISHEVSKA and Olga BONDARENKO were among the 50 best scientific and pedagogical employees of Sumy State University. Olha BONDARENKO, head of the CPDS department, was awarded a II degree diploma at the university level and NNI law.
Teacher-intern of the Department of THE DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL LEGAL DISCIPLINES AND PROCEDURE Ruslana DEGTYAR took part in the 9th BUP training “Interdisciplinary-Multicultural-International”, organized by the Center for participants from the Baltic region, which took place on the basis of the Lodz Technical University in the city of Lodz, Poland.
During the course there was an opportunity to discuss scientific problems and research projects with an emphasis on sustainable development in interdisciplinary, international, multicultural and regional contexts. The course included training in writing scientific research, preparing scientific presentations. Immediately before the public presentation of the dissertation, an individual consultation was held with the professor of the Department of Sociology of Art, Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz – Piotr Khomczynskii regarding the dissertation topic. During the direct presentation of the dissertation topic, advice and suggestions were received from the director of the BUP center – Ireneusz Zbicinski and other invited professors.
