In celebration of Science Day, Sumy State University hosted an event that combined science with leisure—the “Scientific Picnic”. This year, the theme “How to Profit from Science” particularly captured the interest of students and faculty alike.
A highlight of the picnic was the presentation by Mykhailo Dumchykov, a senior lecturer in the department. He addressed the concerns and challenges of the modern digital world in his talk titled “On Guard for Safety: Personal Data and Modern Cybercrimes”. During his presentation, Mykhailo elucidated the importance of understanding the nuances of personal data, introduced the attendees to the latest cyber threats, and provided several practical tips on how to protect one’s personal data from potential attacks.
His talk not only enriched the participants with new knowledge but also spurred active discussions on ways to protect oneself online, which is extremely relevant today.
The “Scientific Picnic” reaffirmed that science can be both engaging and immensely practical in everyday life, especially when it comes to protecting personal information.
