On May 29, 2026, students of the Educational Programme “Law Enforcement Activity” of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure visited the Biological Research and Records Department operating at the branch of the department based at the Sumy Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
During the educational visit, the students had an opportunity to learn about modern molecular genetic research methods, the specifics of DNA examinations, and their importance in detecting and investigating criminal offenses.
The laboratory specialists introduced the students to the key stages of forensic examinations, from the collection of biological samples to the preparation of expert conclusions. Particular attention was paid to the use of advanced equipment and compliance with international standards in forensic science.
The visit contributed to the enhancement of students’ practical knowledge, the development of professional competencies, and a deeper understanding of the role of forensic research in law enforcement activities.
