The Department of Criminal Law and Procedure (DCLP) continues the successful implementation of the educational project “EUEPPDC” within the Erasmus+ programme, Jean Monnet Module. The project, dedicated to introducing and examining European experience in the protection of personal data in cyberspace, has achieved substantial results in its second year of activity.

During the reporting period, a number of important initiatives were successfully carried out to enhance knowledge and practical skills in the field of cybersecurity. The key outcomes include:

  • Scientific and Practical Workshop: A workshop entitled “Ensuring the Confidentiality of Personal Data in Cyberspace: Legal and Technical Challenges” was held. Participants discussed pressing issues and tools for effective data protection.

  • Roundtable Discussion: The event “EU Experience in the Protection of Personal Data in Cyberspace” was organised, bringing together experts to exchange views and analyse best European practices.

  • Updating Educational Materials: The academic course “EU Experience in the Protection of Personal Data in Cyberspace” was revised and supplemented, ensuring compliance with the latest requirements and trends in the field of cybersecurity.

  • Syllabus Revision: The syllabus of the discipline was updated, allowing for the integration of new knowledge and practical case studies into the teaching process.

Looking ahead, the project team has set ambitious goals for the next stage of implementation of “EUEPPDC”, aimed at further strengthening its educational and practical dimensions:

  • Workshop “GDPR in Your Pocket: European Practices of Data Protection on Smartphones”: A forthcoming event will focus on practical aspects of personal data protection on mobile devices.

  • Development of a Handbook: A practical handbook on cyber hygiene will be prepared to serve as a valuable tool for a broad audience.

  • Ongoing Work: The team will continue to update the academic course and revise the syllabus to ensure their relevance and high quality.

The “EUEPPDC” project remains committed to its vital mission of raising awareness and promoting the implementation of best European standards in the field of personal data protection.
