Students enrolled in the “Intellectual Property” and “Law Enforcement” programs recently attended the inaugural webinar in a series dedicated to public integrity principles and their practical application. Held on November 6, this first session introduced participants to 13 core principles of public integrity, including transparency, leadership, ethical behaviour, conflict of interest prevention, risk management, and community engagement.
The webinar placed particular emphasis on the current status of Ukraine’s cooperation with the OECD in the realm of integrity and the legal tools available to combat corruption. Participants received practical advice on applying public integrity principles within the civil service, along with legal mechanisms designed to help prevent corruption risks. These webinars are of special value for students, as future professionals in intellectual property and law enforcement are expected to foster a culture of integrity in their careers. Familiarising themselves with public integrity principles and the methods for implementing them is essential for understanding the role of transparency, ethics, and leadership in today’s society. Additionally, the acquired knowledge will enhance their capacity to make well-founded and ethical decisions, ultimately improving the quality of their future work amidst the growing need to combat corruption and uphold public order. The webinar series will continue, equipping participants with new knowledge and skills to apply integrity principles in real-life situations, contributing to stronger moral and ethical standards across various professional fields.
