On September 12, 2025, Doctor of Laws Olha Maletova, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, took part in a webinar organized by the Ukrainian Bar Association on the topic “Classified Developments: Patenting in the Defense Sector.”
During the event, the following issues were discussed:

the specifics of legal protection of classified intellectual property objects;

practices of patenting in the field of defense technologies;

the balance between national security and the protection of innovation;

problematic aspects of international cooperation in the area of military developments.
Participation in the webinar provided an opportunity to exchange experiences with fellow legal professionals and researchers, while also contributing to the development of proposals aimed at improving national legislation in the field of intellectual property protection related to defense.
