The main topics of research projects and grants carried out at the CPDS department of the National Institute of Law with the involvement of post-graduate and doctoral students:
- Development of a methodology for the interaction of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine in countering the legalization of criminal proceeds (competition on state budget topics of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine for young scientists, state registration number 0120U100474) implementation period 2020-2022.
The purpose of the study is to develop a new method of interaction between law enforcement agencies, financial institutions and other legal entities regarding countering and combating the legalization of criminal proceeds as a prerequisite for increasing the effectiveness of their activities in the field of countering and combating money laundering, which will lead to an improvement conditions for the development of the financial system and the growth of the standard of living of the population of Ukraine.
Research supervisor – Oleg Mykolayovych Reznik, Doctor of Law, associate professor, deputy director for scientific work of the Institute of Law of Sumy State University. This project involves: 1 doctor and 3 candidates of legal sciences, 2 graduate students, 4 students.
List of directions and topics of scientific research conducted with the participation of teachers of the CPDS department of the National Institute of Law
- State authorities and the law enforcement system of Ukraine – the scientific direction was founded in 2010 by Anatoly Mykolayovych Kulish, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law of Sumy State University. In the framework of the direction, the teachers of the KPDS department carry out scientific research on the following topics:
- The theme of the second half of the day of the department is “Organizational and legal foundations of the functioning of the law enforcement, judicial and financial systems of Ukraine” (018U001317), approved for the period until November 30, 2023. In 2020, the following participated in the implementation of the theme: V.V. Pakhomov, Ilchenko O.V., Bondarenko O.S., Yanishevska K.D., Utkina M.S., Karikh I.V., Dumchikom M.O.
- Improving the activities of law enforcement agencies to ensure the financial and economic security of Ukraine – the scientific direction was founded in 2015 by Oleg Mykolayovych Reznik, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal and Legal Disciplines and Judiciary of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law of Sumy State University. Within the framework of the direction, scientific research is carried out on the topic:
- “Development of the method of interaction of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine in countering the legalization of criminal proceeds” (state budget competition of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine for young scientists, state registration number 0120U100474, implementation period 2020-2022). The following participated in the execution of the theme: O.M. Reznik, O.S. Bondarenko, M.S. Utkina.

– Kryvosheev Kostyantyn Oleksandrovych – Administrative and legal principles of the operation of a single law enforcement agency that ensures the financial security of Ukraine.
– Dmytro Volodymyrovych Maletov – Administrative and legal principles of the Anti-Corruption Court in Ukraine.
– Zheryobkina Evgenia Anatoliivna – Administrative and legal foundations of the implementation of case law in the administration of justice in Ukraine
Within this direction, 4 doctoral theses and 8 candidate theses were defended.
