HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

01.09.1997 in accordance with order # 179-1 at the Department of political science, sociology and law of the Humanities Faculty of the Sumy State University was created section of law.

 

During the existence of the section its heads were: Tertyshnyk V. N. (31.08.1997 – 31.08.1998); Grinchenko  V. V. (01.09.1998 – 07.02.2000); Sinchenko Yu. P. (07.02.2000 – 14.09.2005).

 

15.09.2005 according to the order No. 334-1 through the reorganization of the section of law it was established the Department of Law, headed by Kulish Anatoliy Mykolayovych.

 

23.08.2010 it was created the Department of administrative, economic law and procedure through its allocation from the Department of Law (AELP).

 

From 05.10.2010, the Department AELP renamed to the Department of administrative, economic law and financial and economic security (AELFES).

 

The Department was headed by Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Kulish Anatoliy Mykolayovych, and since 2014  the head of the Department of administrative, economic law and financial and economic security is Doctor of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of Burbyka Mykhaylo Mykhaylovych.

 

The Department is a part of the Faculty of Law of Sumy State University, and carries out preparation of specialists on specialties “Jurisprudence”, “Economic and Financial Security”, “Intellectual property” of educational qualification levels of bachelor, specialist and master at intramural and extramural forms of education.

The goal of the Department is the preparation of specialists in the field of law and financial and economic security, with theoretical knowledge and practical skills and its implementation; development of fundamental scientific research in the areas of Departments’ specialization.

 

The Department was created on 15th September, 2005 in accordance with order #334-1 through the allocating of the section of law, which existed from 1st September, 1997 in accordance with order # 179-1 from the Department of political science, sociology and law.

Heads of the Section:

  1. Tertyshnyk V. N. (31.08.1997 – 31.08.1998);
  2. Grinchenko V. (01.09.1998 – 07.02.2000);
  3. Sinchenko Yu. P. (07.02.2000 – 14.09.2005).

Head of the Department – Kulish A. M. (from 15.09.2005).

At the Faculty in different years there worked many well-known persons, veterans of war and labor at Sumy region and outside. Among them: Boiko N. P. – Hero of the Soviet Union, the participant of storm of Berlin; Nosko V. G. – Associate Professor of the Department of Markism-Leninism, the party of the Victory Parade in Moscow in 1945; V. Evdokimov. – Professor of philosophy, who  passed the roads of war and headed by the veterans Council of our institution

In the 2007/2008 year at the Faculty has worked more than 160 lecturers and staff, including 4 Doctors of Sciences and more than 40 Candidates of Sciences.

In 20. 09. 2010 the Faculty of Law of Sumy State University was created  by withdrawal from the Faculty of Humanities, the Department of Law was headed by M. M. Burbyka.

On the basis of the Department of Law in 2014 it was created the Department of Justice and International Law. The creation of the Department was due to the need to prepare skilled professionals in the field of justice and international law, facilitated human and infrastructural potential of Sumy state University.

The Department is the part of the Faculty of Law of Sumy State University, and carries out preparation of specialists on specialties “Law”, “Economic and Financial Security”, “Intellectual Property” of educational qualification levels of bachelor, specialist and master.

The goal of the Department is to meet the growing demand of Ukrainian society to prepare skilled professionals in the field of modern justice and international law, financial and economic security of business entities, intellectual property, with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to apply them effectively in their daily work process.
