CREDIT-MODULAR SYSTEM

In Sumy State University  assessment of student knowledge is based on the credit-module system (CMS). The schedule of training process during academic year consists of  2 semesters, each of which is divided into three Module cycles. At the ends of each semester students have to pass their exams.

The academic year contains 60 credits and, during one week a student takes about 1.5 credits of training.

Credit is the unit of student academic performance measurement in studying a particular component of the curriculum or a separate discipline learned during student teaching, which determines the amount of classrooms hours and independent work of students. One credit consists normally  of 36 hours.

Scale assessment of discipline (R) is determined in proportion to the total volume of training in the discipline: R=40*K, K – total discipline in credits.
